Imran


Imran is from Bihar. He lost both his parents at a very young age. As a result, he along with his three brothers, came to New Delhi to live with his grand mother. He used to study during the day and do odd jobs after school. At the age of 18, he got his first real job as a helper in a bags production factory in Noida. At the time, he did not know he was going to become a leather craftsman. There he saw that leather craftsmen were making thrice the money he was. So, he started learning about leather craft after his daily shift. With his sheer will and dedication, he learnt how to make bags and hasn’t looked back since. He loves the workshop and cannot imagine doing anything else. During his free time, he loves to watch Bollywood movies with his brothers and playing PUBG on his phone.



Suraj


Suraj lives in Delhi with his mother, father and two brothers. Since childhood, he was always more interested in art and craft than math and science. He completed schooling till grade 10 and started learning leather craft in a workshop around his house. He has been making leather bags for over 6 years now and absolutely loves it. What draws him to leather craft? He loves being creative and making new products. He loves working with his hands and finds it therapeutic. When he’s not working, he loves to go for long walks and playing cricket with his friends.

Suresh


Suresh started working in the leather industry when he was 19. His first job was in a factory which made leather covers for phones. His brother got him this job. He didn’t know much about leather craft and learnt everything he knows on the job. He is married and has a son and a daughter. When he is not making new products for us, he loves to spend time with his family. He runs errands and recharges his batteries over the weekends.

Naseem


Naseem finished his schooling from Bihar in 2005 and started looking for a job. He went to live with his brother in Kolkata and got an opportunity there to work in a leather workshop as a helper. Over time, he learnt how to make leather bags there. He says it was the only way up for him and he soon realised he was good at it. He has been making bags for 16 years now. He loves creating new products. When he is not making bags, he likes to spend time with his wife, two daughters and a son. He loves walking in the city and watching TV shows of his wife’s choice.
